Super Bowl PacakgesIn 2008 the surprising New York Giants (a 12 point underdog) managed to shock the NFL, and the rest of the sporting world, when they beat league MVP Tom Brady and the rest of the New England Patriots to earn their seventh World Championship and third Super Bowl title.

By surviving one of the closest Super Bowls of all time, the Giants pulled one of the biggest Super Bowl upsets ever. They defeated the previously unbeaten New England Patriots and avenged a 35-38 home loss in the last game of the regular season.

The Patriots were just one win away from being the first team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins to complete an undefeated season and take home the Vince Lombardi trophy, but could not defeat a New York Giants team that won 11 straight games on the road.

As for most Super Bowl wins of all time, the Steelers are currently tied with the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers for the most Super Bowl wins (5) in league history. The Cowboys own the team record for most Super Bowl appearances (8). The first Super Bowl took place on January 15, 1967, pitting the Green Bay Packers against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers manhandled the Chiefs 35-10 at Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.
